1. Michael Lynche - It's a Man's Man's Man's World.
A great, confident vocal performance.
All judges agree.
2. John Park - Gravity.
Great voice, boring song but very well done.
Randy didn't think he brought anything new to it. Ellen and Kara liked it, but wished he felt it more. Simon called it a So What performance.
3. Casey James - I Don't Wanna Be.
He doesn't have the voice for a song this big, but still far from terrible. Great guitarist.
Randy saw a recording artist. Ellen thought it was great, but stiff. Kara said he took two steps back. Simon couldn't wait to speak and agreed with Kara, saying his voice didn't have the grit.
4. Alex Lambert - Everybody Knows.
That mullet's getting worse. A more confident performance, and a nice fit for his range. Nothing too memorable though.
Randy found it legit. Ellen is pleased with his improvement. Kara said everyone's rooting for him, and loves his tone. Simon said it was 1000000 times better but that he needs the killer instinct to be in it to win it.
5. Todrick Hall - What's Love Got To Do With It?
Great voice, shite arrangement. Again.
Randy wishes he would just sing a song without changing it so much. Ellen wanted him to play to his strengths, i.e. dancing and performing. Kara agreed with Randy, Simon said it's not working.
6. Jermaine Sellers - What's Going On?
All over the place. Hated it. Very feeble-sounding voice in the lower register.
Randy thought it wasn't great, he overcomplicated it. Ellen likes his style, but the vocals were off. Kara called it too much, and he needs to listen to the lyrics. Simon said they're frustrated and disappointed.
7. Andrew Garcia - You Give Me Something.
A very exposing choice. Some nice bits, but a lot of very bad notes.
Randy called it pitchy all over the place. Ellen liked it but he's not topping Straight Up. Kara called it too safe, they need surprises. Simon is disappointed still.
8. Aaron Kelly - My Girl.
Totally overdid the runs, and though there's an immaturity to his voice, there's something likeable there. Other than looking like Haley Joel Osment.
Randy said nice one. Ellen liked the way he used the stage, but not the song. Kara liked it, saying he'll get better and better. Simon thought it was all over the place, calling it old fashioned.
9. Tim Urban - Come On Get Higher.
A vast improvement, but far from outstanding.
Randy didn't get it. Ellen thought he had no stage presence, but is adorable. Kara liked the song choice, but he didn't make it his own. He's got potential but isn't there yet. Simon thought it was a marked improvement, calling it current and relevant, and complimenting his positive attitude to negative criticism.
10. Tim Dewyse - Lips of an Angel.
Don't know the song, forgotten it already. Poor voice, though not as bad as last week. But still worst tonight.
Randy liked it. Ellen liked the passion and intensity. Kara thought it was an improvement and thought he was commercial and current. Simon says he's undoubtedly the best singer. WTF?
My favourites: John and Michael. By miles.
My bottom two: Tim and Jermaine.
Results show:
John out first. What. The. FUCK? Boring song choices, but they've just lost the best male vocalist.
Jermaine out next. Thank you Jesus. I wouldn't have wanted to be associated with him either. Cocky, talentless TWAT.
